You’re a values-based leader if…
You lead a team in a service-oriented profession like education, health care or social services, or in a field like human resources, Training & Development, or something else that is focused on people as well as profits.
In addition, you’re not satisfied with the status quo. After looking inward to your gifts and your values, you’ve decided that the work you and your team does should help create a better world for yourselves, those you serve, and those who come after you.
Sure, the money and the title are nice, but they aren’t what gets you out of bed in the morning. The mission does.
That said, although you care about leaving your campsite better than you’ve found it, you can’t and won’t sacrifice your wellbeing or the wellbeing of others to do so.
In short, you and your team strive to build a better world without burning out.
And as a fellow values-based leader, I think that's great!
However, leaders like us have a problem.
You know how your organization needs to change in order to meet its full potention, but that change is blocked at every step by doubt, dysfunction, and drama.
That’s because all of us are selfish, flawed, and scared people struggling to control a selfish, flawed, and scared world.
And our lack of control will never change, no matter how many degrees we earn, or how hard we work, or how much we care about our mission.
None of us, and none of our organizations, will ever perfectly match our visions of what we need to be.
But what if we don’t have to be perfect to build a better world?
What if you and your organization don't have to be perfect to build a better world?
What if, instead, you just need a guide with proven techniques to
grow your confidence,
refine your processes, and
create the trusting culture that will empower you all to become the organization you know you can be?
You see, by accepting both your imperfections and another leader’s guidance in thriving with them them, your organization will foster a more principled, sustainable, and caring world that will endure long after you're gone.
Enter Kind Leadership—and KLG Coaching
KLG Coaching, based on my Kind Leadership framework provides short-term coaching, long-term mentorship, and ongoing fellowship with values-driven leaders who have committed to driving organizational change without burning out. KLG Coaching empowers values-based leaders like you to get results from their change initiatives by developing three core skills.
By growing humanely as a decision-maker, you make insightful decisions that transform your doubts into confidence that you can achieve the accomplishments that will make your organization more principled and courageous.
By managing your resources effectively, you use your expertise to implement plans and structures that turn everyday dysfunction into clarity, giving you the power to help your organization achieve a sustainable impact.
By creating collaboratively with your team, your stakeholders, and your community, workplace drama resolves into a culture of trust, leading in turn to an army of followers who hold each other mutually accountable to make the world a more caring place.
About Your Kind Leader
I’m Dr. Sarah Clark. I have a PhD in higher education leadership, but more importantly, I have completed 12 years in the School of Hard Knocks as an associate library director and dean of libraries at two equally mission-oriented but very different universities. Since 2019 I have also been a leadership coach, consultant, podcaster and trainer, directly working with over 50 values-based leaders and thousands of podcast listeners and social media followers. And now I am ready to focus more on providing values-based leaders like you the practical tools and inspirational support you need to surmount the obstacles that stand between you and your better world.
How to Learn More:
You can book a free trial conversation with me about a leadership challenge you're struggling with. It can be implementing a new leadership mindset, navigating interpersonal drama, resolving a broken system or an overwhelming project-- you name it.
I'll listen, I'll help you clarify said problem, and we'll start sketching out a potential solution for you to implement.
If we both find that chat helpful enough to keep the conversation going, I’ll invite you to become a KLG Coaching client—first for a month or 3 while we sort out your most pressing leadership challenge, then we’ll decide if we think the Guild could serve your growth needs for the long haul.
KLG Coaching currently costs $200 per month and your price will never increase for as long as you're a member. (longer term retainers are available, but only after completing at least a one month project so we can make sure we’re a good fit.)
KLG Coaching includes unlimited text support (Linkedin Messeging or email depending on your preference), and 60 minutes of 1:1 zoom support per month, where I will coach you through your current pressing challenges, and/or the big picture issues that led to those challenges in the first place.
Down the road, I would like to roll out a private group space where we can all start building a true community of kind leaders that’s available 24/7. (spoiler alert—even with the PhD and decade of leadership experience I don’t have all the answers)
The Guild will run for as long as it is financially and personally sustainable for me and enough leaders to be worth our mutual whiles. In other words, its lifespan will be determined by how well it’s serving its mission. So if that sounds good…
let’s start building a better world.
